Amazon Selfies

Description: Before coming to Peru I read an article about the Peruvian Amazon and how the jungle is being destroyed by gold mining companies. I acquired some pig bones from one of our jungle walks, and then I painted them with a gold effect spray paint and created some accessories as the necklaces. After that I took a series of "selfie" images with my objects. The goal of this project is to attract attention towards promoting the protection of the Amazon jungle. I used the pig bones as a symbol because the pig came to Peru from Europe with the Spanish, and so it is not an original Peruvian Amazon jungle animal. And the "selfie" images are references to today's world.
